Hi, I'm Matt.
I started Wieters Film Co. because I kept watching wedding videos that felt like commercials for a wedding instead of a record of one. Everything staged. Everything smoothed out. Nothing that actually happened.
So I do it the other way. I keep the footprint small and the energy calm. I don't direct you. I don't stage the moment where you look at each other and laugh, because the real one is coming in about four minutes and it's better. That isn't just how I work. It's the standard for anyone who films under this name.

I got into this the way a lot of people do. Filming a friend's wedding as a favor, realizing halfway through the ceremony that I cared more about getting it right than anyone had asked me to. I never really stopped. Everything I do now is built around that first day: stay out of the way, catch the real thing, hand it back.
When the cameras are off, you can usually find me hanging out with my daughter, wrangling my dog Gracie, or hunting down a ridiculously good coffee around Abingdon.

Spark and Chorus are covered by one filmmaker. Anthem is covered by two, and a second can be added to Spark or Chorus when the timeline calls for it.
I lead most weddings myself. In peak months I occasionally have two dates at once, and when that happens your day is covered by a lead filmmaker I've worked with and trust, shooting the same way, to the same standard, with the same small footprint. Either way, I oversee the edit and your films come from me.
You'll know exactly who is filming your wedding before you sign anything. Not the week of, and never as a surprise.
